libastro-fits-header-perl software package provides module for reading, modifying and writing FITS headers, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libastro-fits-header-perl
libastro-fits-header-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libastro-fits-header-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libastro-fits-header-perl *
You will get with libastro-fits-header-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
